Kenepuru Sound is the second largest Marlborough Sound. Being also very popular as a holiday destination with many properties having boat only access. Some of the access and service roads often become impassable due to the steep and unstable terrain.

Tennyson Inlet
Another waterway via the Kenepuru and Tawhitinui Reach is Tennyson Inlet. The Matai Hut is a unique and delightful hideaway. Secluded in Godsiff Bay on this inlet. It is a DOC hut, managed by a local trust. Bookings are essential. It is popular and picturesque. Great area to Kayak some of the amazing Marlborough Sounds. Or you can fish, dive or do some hiking or trail blazing.
Tennyson Inlet and Duncan Bay also boast of a very successful boat club and facilities.
